Teaching and Learning at SMCS

"Striving for Excellence" underpins all that we do at SMCS. We provide a wholistic approach to our teaching and learning and aim to maximise student achievement.

In doing this, it is our goal to ensure that all students are given the appropriate level of challenge and support to fulfil their God given potential. We believe that God created each person and that they are unique. Each student in our community has been given unique gifts and talents and it is our aim to help each individual to identify their giftings and to nurture those talents.

We deliver NSW BOS curriculum to a high standard and excellence. NSW curriculum is developed in stages and outcomes are arranged in stages.

The school is divided into Primary (K-6) and Secondary: Stage 4 (Years 7 & 8) and Stage 5 (Years 9 & 10).

Primary classes:

  • Early & Stage 1 (Kindergarten & Year 1)
  • Stage 1 & 2 (Year 2 & 3)
  • Stage 2 & 3 (Year 4, 5 & 6)

Secondary Classes:

  • Stage 4 (Year 7 & 8)
  • Stage 5 (Year 9 & 10)

Classes in secondary are in stages for some subjects and seperated into year groups for most of the subjects, producing small classes that increases individual attention.

We also provide a wide range of Co and Extra Curricular activities.
