SMCS Tech Talk

The second instalment of the Tech Talk series for this year is coming up on the 4th of September and will be focusing on the things we can do to help our computers to run at peak performance and avoid the disasters that can happen (even if we think it will never happen to us). Whether you're well-versed in tech or just starting out on your digital journey, our seminar will have something for everyone.

Our session is designed to empower attendees with essential skills and insights into the things that can help your computer experience to be more reliable. Some of the things we will look at are:

• Basic rules for students to avoid accidents. Physical handling tips etc
• Software updates, and effective antivirus practices.
• Understand the importance of regular backups and learn various methods to safeguard your precious data. From cloud storage to external drives
• Password management and making your life easier online
• Tips for finding great software, both free and paid to do a variety of things.
• Troubleshooting skills to diagnose and fix common software and hardware problems.
