Snowy Mountains Christian School is a Christian School located in Cooma, NSW offering NSW
curriculum for Years K-10. We aim to prepare our students to discern, critique and contribute
significantly in a global society. SMCS is a member of Christian Schools Australia and accredited

At Snowy Mountains Christian School, we deliver a well-structured and diverse curriculum with a
broad range of subject choice. The most critical factor in determining high educational outcomes, is the quality of teachers. Our highly qualified Christian teachers are committed to delivering the best programs and teaching environment for each student. They prayerfully approach each day with a view to enriching and nurturing each child’s unique potential. Our role is to support parents in helping their children discover their gifts, develop them and consider the ways in which they may be used to serve others.
From Kindergarten through to Year 10, each child will spend about 13,000 hours in the classroom. As a parent, you must decide where you want your child to spend that time. Many schools offer education that teaches and prepares children academically, but where do children learn values and grow spiritually?
Choosing a school for your child is one of the most important decisions that a parent can make. We at Snowy Mountains Christian School realise this and believe that our school offers your child something unique. We know that an education based on sound Christian principles, values and ethics gives a child a rewarding, enriching and holistic educational experience which prepares them for the next stage in their learning and living. As such we partner with parents in the spiritual development of each child, supporting the Biblical mandate
"Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it." Proverbs 22:6
Our school is small and caring. Each student is known individually and is valued for who they are. The pastoral care each child will receive at Snowy Mountains Christian School, is a vital component of our daily routine and is, we believe, an integral part of a sound and rich educational experience.
In addition to receiving a quality academic education each child is encouraged to participate in the broader community through various charity activities, debating competitions, music recitals, sporting events and the Arts.
We recognise that we cannot do things in our own strength; we need Jesus to help us. Therefore we strive to glorify God in all that we do.
